India’s Presidency of the G20: “LiFE, Resilience and Values” in a World of Geopolitics

This expert discussion on India’s G20 Presidency showcases the work of the T20 outreach progamme, specifically of its unique taskforce “LiFE, Resilience and Values for Wellbeing.” Highlighting its idealism as well as attention to Realpolitik, members of this group of international scholars and think tankers share their insights on different aspects of the G20 effort amid increasing geoeconomic competition. This debate on multilateralism and the current avenues for meaningful change towards a more (ecologically and economically) resilient, safe, and thriving future is flanked by an input on the needs and constraints of German/European business interests. Questions of sustainability, distributive justice, and animal welfare will be addressed in a solution-oriented debate on the role of the Global South and liberal values in global governance.
