Think20 (T20) is an official Engagement Group of the G20. It serves as an “idea bank” for the G20 by bringing together think tanks and high-level experts to discuss policy issues relevant to the G20. T20 recommendations are synthesised into policy briefs and presented to G20 working groups, ministerial meetings, and leaders’ summit to help the G20 deliver concrete policy measures.

  • Sujan R. Chinoy (Chair)
    Director General, Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA)

    Amb Sujan R. Chinoy is the Director General of MP-IDSA, New Delhi. A career diplomat from 1981-2018, he held several important assignments, including as Ambassador to Japan and as head of policy planning in the National Security Council Secretariat. A specialist on defence and security issues, he led boundary negotiations with China. He is the Indian Chair of the Think-20 Core Group during India’s G20 Presidency.

  • Samir Saran
    President, Observer Research Foundation (ORF)

    Samir Saran is the President of the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), India’s premier think tank, headquartered in New Delhi. His research focuses on issues of global governance, climate change and energy policy, technology and media, and India’s foreign policy.

    He curates the Raisina Dialogue, India’s annual flagship platform on geopolitics and geo-economics, and is the founder of CyFy, India’s annual conference on cybersecurity and internet governance. He spearheads the foundation’s efforts to foster new international partnerships and incubate young leaders networks and youth led conversations globally.

    Samir is a member of the India-CEO Climate Action Group, Global Risks Advisory Board, and the Regional Action Group of the World Economic Forum (WEF). He has served as a Commissioner of The Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace. He is a member of the Board of Directors at ORF America.

  • Sachin Chaturvedi
    Director General, Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS)

    Professor Sachin Chaturvedi is currently Director General at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), a New Delhi-based policy research institute with Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. He works on issues related to development economics, involving development finance, SDGs and South-South Cooperation, apart from trade, investment and innovation linkages with special focus on WTO. He is also Vice Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Policy and Planning Commission and Member, Board of Governors, Reserve Bank of India.

  • Arvind Gupta
    Director, Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF)

    Dr Arvind Gupta is the Director of the Vivekananda Foundation, New Delhi. He was the Deputy National Security Adviser and Secretary, National Security Council, Government of India during 2014-17. Earlier, he was Director-General of the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi during 2012-2014 and a former career diplomat, he has served in the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian missions abroad.

    He speaks regularly at the various Indian universities, military, para-military, police, and diplomatic academies on foreign policy and national security issues. He is a member of the Board of Studies of the School of International Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University and has honorary academic positions at Punjab University and Andhra University. Author of many books, his last book was Opportunity for India in a Changing World which was published in 2021.

  • Rohan Jaitley
    Lawyer

    Rohan is a lawyer based in Delhi. He frequently appears before the Supreme Court of India, the High Courts, and Tribunals. In a short span of time, Rohan has carved a niche in the legal arena by handling intricate matters related to commercial law, IP Rights and arbitration.

    Additionally, Rohan dedicates his time and effort towards administering the game of cricket in his capacity as the President of the Delhi and District Cricket Association. He is deeply devoted to causes of public service. He spearheads the charitable and welfare initiatives of the Arun Jaitley Foundation.

    Rohan has recently been conferred with the Capital Foundation Young Achiever Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership skills. Rohan completed his law degree from Amity Law School, Delhi and pursued an LL.M. from Cornell University, USA.
